The handsome, generous, tall green tree,
Stood for hundreds of years,
With its massive shade,
And extended hands,
Hugging me with its parental love,
Protecting me against all the odds—
Against the scorching sun,
Against the smashing wind,
Against the salinization of soil,
Against the growing wild weeds,
Against the camouflaged and exposed
Hazards attempting to uproot me.
Its’ continued protection made me strong,
And I never knew that there was much wrong.
One day, It fell down all of a sudden,
Transferring me all the burden,
Leaving me alone,
To become a tree on my own.

syeda this sad poem is perhaps an afflictive tale of your own life…. the affinity with own dear and near ones is so weighty in the life that whenever someone migrates the heart feels the pain for ever… this is never forgotten with the passage of time….. eyes are filled with tears whenever they are renembered…. your art of simile is superbly manifest in this splendid work…. after thoroughly reading this poem it is crystal clear that you are gaining experience of an astute poetess day by day and night by night…..

I how wonder how did the 100 years old deep rooted tree fall down all of a sudden without any reason. We have seen huge trees falling due to speedy wind and rain strom, or there may be any other reason. Any way I admire your expertise in your work and you know very well what to mention and what not. Now while the tree is gone .which you had a spirtual attachment with.Which gave you a feeling of parental affection. It is natural phenomenon that elders leave the space for youngers. Now since you are grown up you should take up the responsiblity on your shoulders left by your elders. May Allah succeed u to fulfil your responsibilities. Ameen.

Sir, it had its reason of falling …… “And I never knew that there was much wrong.” The tree suffered while it protected…….. Its time ended too….
Thank you so much for reading the poem with so much interest 🙂 and thank you for your prayers 🙂
